Running With the Light

Free will is a blessing and a curse, but a requirement for true love.

We can do good or we can do bad. Even as a follower of Christ, there is a fight for maturity, which is spoken of as fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). The fight is against the usual things that destroy fruit: pests, lack of sun, warmth and nutrients, weeds, disease and the like.

Disobedient behavior results in damage to the fruit and lost rewards for followers of Jesus. Not to mention chastening from rod and staff, for our good or someone else’s, of course.

Refusing to believe in and accept God’s gift of salvation through the finished work of Christ, results in eternal separation from God who is good, light and love in a place of torment. That is Jesus teachings not mine!

What will it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his own soul? (Matthew 16:26.)
