Jesus said, “say to this mountain . . . be moved”, at one point (Mark 11:23 – 24 & Matthew 17:20). So what’s the hold up? You don’t see many mountains moving about these days. Is it lack of faith? Presence of sin? Or is it the presence of doubt? Jesus also said if you or I have faith as big as a tiny mustard seed, it would be enough IF we lack doubt! So the real question is not how to move a mountain, or have big faith, rather, it is how to rid our heart and mind of doubt. Yes, I wrestle with this. I spend a certain portion of my allotted time in prayer for myself, my country and for others. I want my prayer time to be well spent, meaning get the answers that I believe are in agreement with the Lord’s will. I am always watching for those things which may hinder the moving of large and small obstacles in the lives of whoever!
The other factor is to SPEAK the words! The God of creation used spoken words to create. This may sound scandalous, but they are God’s words, “let us make man in our image”. Our words are also powerful, important and either creative for good, for destruction or worthless.
Each of us must choose. To not choose is also a choice. That is one of the great mysteries of God our creator. We are allowed to choose to be for or against Him.
