I recently visited the Holocaust museum in Washington DC and as I knew I would be, was appalled. The very next day – today I was guided “somehow” to a 12 minute video made by Arnold Schwarzenegger at least 6 months ago. Arnold gave a profoundly heartfelt talk regarding the anti-Jew environment of today. He spoke of his personal experience related to his own father and the devastating effects of hatred. Nobody wins, to be sure!
It is true that other groups were also persecuted during the Nazi regime. A point I feel compelled to make is this, being a Jew by birth, as in bloodline, is not a choice. Obeying or rejecting God, may be a hard choice, maybe even really hard. Nevertheless, it isn’t the same as being either Jewish or black (sorry if this is the wrong word).
Throwing Jewish, black and sexually disoriented into the same category isn’t right. No one should be hated or beaten or mocked or treated with cruelty. God loves people, He is God and He said He loves the Jewish people. He loves the gentiles too. Christ Jesus died for sinners or no one would escape His wrath (Romans 5:8). Being God, He is allowed to determine what is good and what is evil. We can not alter what is good and what is evil no matter how many times we say it and no matter how much we get mad at God.
Still, He relentlessly pursues us because of His unfathomable love.
Sin is destructive, progressive, divisive, and shame producing! He wants inestimably better for every single person. There is a being that agrees with every lie, perversion and division. There really is no fence sitting. To not choose is to choose and to choose the one who truly hates you is also a choice- but who would do that willingly or knowingly???
As for me and my house, I choose to serve the loving God!
