Running With the Light

I was recently informed that my operating system had an update they wanted to install to add some “pride” features.

Certainly this is not the first time I have had cause to ponder the use of this word, but I admit, it baffles me why THIS word of all the possible choices.

There was a great battle fought because a beautiful angel thought too highly of himself and wanted to be God. That didn’t end well!

There was also a beautiful woman (Eve) who wanted to know good AND EVIL and be LIKE God. That did not go well, though we are still watching that one unfold. Thank God for God – that He so loved the world that He sent His only Son to save those who are willing to trust Him (John 3:16 and John 1:12).

There is also the well known story of a man named Cain who murdered his brother, Abel, because he wanted God to do things his way. Trust me when I say that God’s way is better than anything we could ever come up with. It will take humility, not pride to have the “freedom” we long for!
